Annapolis, MD – Annapolis Boat Shows will host the U.S. debuts of 12 state-of-the art sailboats at its annual fall exhibition and sales show. These new models will join a roster of 140 sailboats exhibiting at Annapolis City Dock from October 10 to 14.

“We couldn’t be more excited to welcome these new vessels to our show,” says Annapolis Boat Show President Mary Ewenson. “Wind power is among the oldest of boating technologies, and yet every year I am blown away by our exhibitors’ ability to advance it in ways that are innovative and aesthetic.”

Among the boats premiering at this year’s show are the French-built Birdyfish foiling sailboat which can reach speeds of up to 25 knots and the Dufour 44, a sleek racer-cruiser designed by Italian Olympian Umberto Felci.

“I can’t wait for guests of the show to get aboard these boats,” says Ewenson. “Sailboat Show attendees will be the first in the United States to experience these boats on the water in-person, and that’s really thrilling.”

Annapolis Boat Shows produces the premier show series for power and sailing vessels, and its flagship Sailboat Show is the largest in the world. The annual event features multihulls, monohulls, cruisers, racers, and sailing dinghies from manufacturers around the globe, alongside show tents stocked with the latest in nautical gear and accessories, electronics, communication equipment, sails, rigging, education, charter companies, clubs, and more.

This is the Birdyfish’s US Debut. Built in France and imported by East Coast Sailboats. The design is based on observing larger higher performance race boats, the goal was to create a stable, safe, foiling double handed dinghy with good acceleration and speed that is accessible to the average sailor. The boat is a concentration of technology from racing and Sail GP. A sum of details on the boat make it an easy, fast and a stable foiler for all skill levels.

The self-regulating J-foils which, in addition to making the boat fly, also contribute to the righting. The boat comes in two configurations: Fun and Race versions. She is ready to sail right off the dolly or trailer. Foiling can start at eight knots and the top speed to date is 25.1 knots.
