Temporary Employment
We will begin accepting applications for the 2024 Fall Boat Shows production team August 1.

Paid employment opportunities are available to build and staff the Boat Shows for all levels of ability.
TIME FRAME – FALL 2024
Temporary hourly employment would commence on September 29th and go through October 20th. There are a few openings available to work from August 28th through October 27th. Please note: all work is rain or shine.
REQUIREMENTS
Our primary requirement is a desire to build and/or staff an in-water boat show. Staff are assigned jobs best suited to their experience and ability level. Please review the following job descriptions to help you decide how your skills and experiences can best fit the needs of the Boat Show.
JOB DESCRIPTIONS
This is a general list of jobs and qualifications. There is a possibility you will be asked to work more than one role during your employment with Annapolis Boat Shows.
LAND CREW AND GROUND SUPPORT
- Ability to lift to 25 lbs. if needed
- Knowledge and experience using hand and light power tools
- Experienced forklift driving and license are a plus
- Ability/knowledge of driving a golf cart
- Repair and minor maintenance issues, mad McGyver skills a plus!
- Valid driving license and clean driving record
- Directing and assisting exhibitors with moving in and out of the Shows
- Excellent customer service skills
- Step into other job roles at the Operation Manager’s discretion
WATER CREW: Availabilty from Aug. 28 to Oct. 20 is helpful; Sept. 30 to Oct. 20 is required.
- Must be able to swim
- Ability to move 20-foot sections of in-water docks; involving pushing, pulling, shoving, bending and kneeling for extended periods of time
- Knowledge and experience using hand and light power tools and generators
- Ability to lift to 25 lbs. if needed
- Basic line handling experience and the ability to tie bowline and other necessary knots
- Basic knowledge of boat tie-up strategies such as spring lines, use of fendering, etc.
- Small boat handling experience
- Knowledge of basic boat safety
- Use of VHF radio
- Clean driving record
- Step into other job roles at the discretion of the Water Crew Lead/ Operation Manager
- Ability to work well on a team of fellow employees
GATE SUPPORT
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Handling electronic and paper tickets
- Prepare and distribute Show materials for Show guests
- Step into other job roles at the Operation Manager’s discretion
TRUCK DRIVER/TRAILERING
- Clean driving record
- CDL A Plus
- Knowledge and skill to drive and back up trailers up to 25 feet in length
- Ability to lift to 25 lbs. if needed
- Step into other job roles at the Operation Manager’s discretion
