    The seminar will introduce the Chesapeake Area Professional Captains Association (CAPCA) to the group. Topics include;

    1) how to hire a captain (for delivery, instruction, or cruise management)

    2) the advantages of being a CAPCA member (attending programs, meetings, and classes)

    3) getting access to CAPCA content available to the public via the internet

    4) CAPCA philosophy relative to improving recreational boating on the Chesapeake Bay

    Light Tackle Jigging for Rockfish in Rocktober by Lenny Rudow with Fish Talk Magazine

    Light tackle jigging is one of the most popular ways to fish for striped bass in the Chesapeake Bay, and FishTalk’s own Lenny Rudow will give anglers the lowdown on what tactics and tackle they need to be successful. He’ll also cover how to find hotspots on the Bay, how to know when conditions are prime for light tackle jigging, and how to choose the best lures for different jigging situations.     Transiting the Erie Canal with Dave Lochner

    Almost 200 years ago, the Erie Canal opened the doors of inland America to the ocean. That door remains open providing an easy journey to and from the ocean for cruisers. Adventure awaits cruisers on the Great Loop or out the St. Lawrence on the Down East Circle Route. Between the ocean and Lake Ontario are 30 locks separating the sweet water cruising of inland America and the ocean. The Great Lakes and St. Lawrence River are worthy grounds for the diehard cruiser to explore. This course will focus on the gateway to sweet water cruising and include planning for the trip, preparing the boat for the canal, locking, and resources along the way.
